FAQ
What should I bring?
We will provide a checklist, but in general you will need a table/chair(s), signage and a way to accept payment. We recommend bringing a 10x10 pop-up tent as well and a way to secure it. Most importantly, bring a big SMILE!
What are you providing?
The Civitans will be providing the location and marketing. At arrival, you will be assigned a location and will need to make sure your booth fits fully inside (10'x10').
What products are not allowed?
We are only allowing products that the student has physically made. So that means no services, software or digital products will be allowed.
What time do we set up?
The event will be held 10AM-3PM and we will request set up to be done between 9-9:30AM.
Is there a loading area?
Yes, please park in the overflow parking lot of BIGGBY to unload everything and then park your car in the parking lot next to the tennis courts.
What if I already graduated high school?
If you are 18 or older and graduated high school, then this event will be closed to you. If you are still 17 and already graduated, then you would be welcome until your 18th birthday.
Do we need to use a commercial kitchen for baked goods?
No, not per the Michigan Cottage Food Law: Under the Cottage Food Law, non-potentially hazardous foods that do not require time and/or temperature control for safety can be produced in a home kitchen (the kitchen of the person's primary domestic residence) for direct sale to customers at farmers markets, farm markets, roadside stands or other direct markets.
