  3. Treasurer’s Report: Theresa went over the report for the general and MP accounts.  Rich made a motion and Kris seconded it to accept the treasurer’s report. Motion passed.
  4. Correspondence: None
  5. Installation of New Officers: Kris installed the officers for 2022-2023, with duties starting on October 1, 2022. Thad was installed as president, Theresa as secretary and Diana as treasurer.  All were given their officer pins and Elijah was given the past president pin. Theresa presented Kris with a bottle of wine for doing the installation. Cookies were also passed around to celebrate the new officers and the September birthdays of Rich and Paulina.
  6. NC District:
    1. Final District Convention (Awards): Theresa & Cheryl: Theresa stated that the North Central District will no longer be on October 1st, and the Region VI District (RVID) will take its place.  This will include the North Central and Valley Districts. Valley consists of the western parts of Kentucky and Tennessee, which is just a little larger than the NC District.  Patti Belote of the Lenawee Club will be the Director of the RVID; she would have been the incoming Governor of the NC District. She will be a very energetic and vocal leader of RVID. Theresa stated the club received a banner patch for Civitan’s at the Helm at the Helmsman level. She also stated that if the club donated an additional $275 (by October 1st) the club could reach the Navigator level. All donations go to the Civitan International Research Center (CIRC). Cheryl made a motion for the club to pay the $275, out of the MP account, in order for the club to reach the Navigator level.  Kris Krzyzanski seconded the motion and the motion passed. Cheryl also received a Civitan International Fellow award at the convention for her outstanding support and service to the NC District.
  7. Growth Committee Discussion:
    1. Youth Entrepreneur Market: The final Youth Entrepreneur Market for 2022 will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10.
i.Pop-Up Tent: Hal and Cheryl reviewed the costs and pictures of the tent recently purchased by the Plymouth Canton Civitan Club. All agreed the tent was striking and should garner a lot of attention. Discussion about ordering a tent for KVCC will be ongoing.
  1. Desert Angels: Theresa & Cheryl:  Three carloads of snacks and personal hygiene items were collected at the convention. With donations from various clubs to go towards postage of the boxes. In addition, a 50/50 raffle was held with proceeds given to the Desert Angels project.  The Ft. Dodge Club of Iowa did 56 cards and Cheryl had attendees also fill out note cards for the troops. Cheryl made a suggestion to have a computerized list of community members that assist with the packing party. We attempted to create a “lead list” last year that might have resulted in new members.  However, we could not decipher most of the names on a list that was generated last year.
i.Partnership with BIGGBY Coffee:  Karissa reported that interest has been expressed by other BIGGBY Coffee locations to participate in our Desert Angels Packing Party. Boxes could be placed for donations in all SE Michigan BIGGBY stores.  Elijah will create signs for the donation boxes and members will divide the stores to pick up donations. A suggestion was made to push the date of the packing party to November in order to capitalize in leftover Halloween candy donations that could be added to the boxes. November 15 & 16 were discussed as possible dates.  The Township Hall will be the packing party location once again.  Once confirmation is received that the Township Hall is available, communications can go out.
  1. 5-Year Celebration: The anniversary party will take place on September 22, 2022. Invitations have been sent to Club Members, Friends of KVCC and the YEM participants.  RSVP’s are due by Sept. 11, 2022. Sue contacted VIP’s that were identified and invited them.
i.Banquet Payment: If you have not RSVP’d with your attendance at the anniversary party, please do so before September 11. Dinner costs can be paid through PayPal or check. See your invitation for details.
ii.VIP Guest Meal Costs: A discussion about the club paying dinner costs for VIP’s.  Rich made a motion for the club to pay for dinners for VIP guests and Cheryl seconded the motion.  Motion passed.
