  7. Upcoming Projects:
    1. Salem-South Lyon Library Howl-O-Ween:  This event will be held tomorrow, on October 19. There will be a Monster Mash dance party, zombie bounce house, campfire stories, and trick-or treating outside along the storywalk path (weather permitting). Historically this has been one of the library’s largest events of the year. The event is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Salem-South Lyon District Library located at 9800 Pontiac Trail. Volunteers should arrive at 5:30 p.m.
    2. New Hudson Trunk-or-Treat: This event will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. Following the trunk or treat, the movie “Hocus Pocus” will be shown. Thad will purchase LED rings and Maureen will purchase candy.  In the previous minutes, a total of $150.00 was approved for LED rings and candy. The treats will be packaged in small bags that Diana will purchase. The candy and rings will be put in bags prior to the dinner meeting on Oct.27 at the New Hudson Biggby Coffee.  Please come and stuff bags, if you can, and/or volunteer for the Trunk-or-Treat.
    3. Desert Angels Packing Party: This event is scheduled for November 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Volunteers for set-up can have access to the Lyon Township Hall after 5:00 PM.  Pizza will be served for participants. If you have connections with local schools, contact the school counselors to see if students that need community service hours might be interested in volunteering. The list of needed items for the boxes can be found on the KVCC website. Last year, Biggby Coffee partnered with KVCC and for every bag of coffee purchased and donated, Biggby donated a bag of coffee.  Good coffee is a luxury for our troops overseas.  Maureen made a motion for the club to spend $500.00 from the MP account for bags of coffee and Biggby Coffee will match the number of donated bags.  Elijah seconded the motion.  All members were in favor and the motion passed. Karissa will see if other Southeast Michigan Biggby Coffee stores will participate in the coffee match or requesting donations to pack in the boxes.
